The official start of spring was yesterday and we have already seen some interesting weather here in California. There have been days where you can go wanting to have the heater on in the morning to wanting to have the air on in the afternoon. One thing is for sure though, it is time for to get started with some spring cleaning tasks.

This year we want to give you a couple of tips on how to clean with a fewer harsh chemicals to help keep the air in your house as fresh as you can. Start by going to your pantry! Get out your white distilled vinegar and baking soda, and grab some empty spray bottles, some newspaper and a couple of clean cloths.

Glass cleaner:
1/4 cup vinegar
1 quart of water
1 spray bottle
Spray on glass and wipe clean with newspaper (the print pages not the ads)

Basic cleaner:
2 parts vinegar
1 part baking soda
4 parts water
Apply with a sponge, scour, and wipe away with clean water and cloth

Floor cleaner:
4 cups vinegar
1 gallon of hot water
Clean with your mop like normal

Toilet bowl cleaner:
Sprinkle baking soda in the bowl and scrub like normal

Mold and mildew cleaner:
Spray with vinegar and wipe away

Besides keeping all the chemicals out of your air, green cleaning really helps your pocketbook as well. Step into spring!
